The 1st Interregional Thematic Workshop (ITW) was organized by Lucca Province and the University of Florence – Department of Architecture (DIDA) between 25–27 June 2025, within the RE-ACT Schools project.
The theme of this 1st ITW was “Green Infrastructure for Biodiverse and Resilient Schoolyards”. The aim was to explore the role of green infrastructure in enhancing biodiversity, ecological resilience, and promoting health and well-being in school environments.
This event also marked the official kick-off of the RE-ACT Schools project and hosted the 1st Steering Committee meeting.
Thematic Roundtables and a partner panel took place during the second and third day of the event, including presentations by project partners such as VEDA (Varna Economic Development Agency) and their pilot initiative in Aksakovo Municipality (Bulgaria), an associated partner of RE-ACT Schools.
