The partners of the Danube Wood(s) Route project gathered in Varna, Bulgaria, for the 5th Project Partners & Steering Committee Meeting, marking another important milestone in the development of this inspiring transnational initiative.

Over two productive days, partners reviewed the overall project progress and shared updates on the implementation of regional workshops, as well as the development of the final Itinerary of the transnational Danube cultural wood(s) route.

Discussions focused on:

✔️ The next regional steps for the Design Innovation Toolbox
✔️ Progress and planning of crowdfunding activities
✔️ Preparation of the Certification Package for the Danube Woods Cultural Route
✔️ Establishment of the Transnational Danube Wood(s) Network

Project modifications and key management updates were presented by the project coordinator, M.Sc. Helena Cvenkel, Director for Research and Development at BSC Kranj – Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska, Slovenia.

The meeting also included a study visit to the beautiful Euxinograd Residence Eco-Park, where participants explored the park’s remarkable tree diversity and unique landscape features, guided by an expert tour guide. The visit provided valuable inspiration and strengthened the project’s connection to natural and cultural heritage.

The Danube Wood(s) Route continues to grow as a collaborative platform connecting regions, heritage, innovation, and sustainable tourism across the Danube area.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward together!
