The International Fair of Apicultural Products in Varna 2019 ended with high national and international presence. The project was organized by VEDA under the ITM BEE-BSB project, with the financial support of the JOP “Black Sea Basin 2014-2020”.

Representatives of partner organizations, beekeepers and their associations from Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine took part in the forum, presenting honey and other apicultural products. They became involved in the creation of a framework of the Black Sea Basin network for cooperation of interested beekeepers and the connected to apiculture sectors in the Black Sea region.

During the second day, over 100 bee producers, traders and representatives of regional development and business support agencies, regional and local authorities and other stakeholders got acquainted with the new technologies for beekeeping modernization in the seminar part of the fair. They learned about the funding opportunities for beekeepers and the development of sustainable beekeeping and organic farming. Good regional and international beekeeping practices were presented during the seminar as well. Fair’s exhibitors and visitors took part in the organized “Guest the Honey” competition with many prizes for the winners.
